Osakis is a great place to visit and an even greater place to live.
Osakis, Minnesota is situated on the southwest shore of Lake Osakis, on Minnesota State Highway 27. Covering about two square miles, the city of Osakis is located in both Todd and Douglas Counties, with most of it being in Douglas County.
The Osakis Public Works Department services the streets, water, wastewater treatment, wells, snow removal and parks.
Building and zoning permits are required for any building in the city.

- Regulates and enforces planning and zoning (the Comprehensive Guide Plan), the Land Use and Subdivision ordinances, and the Solid Waste ordinance of the county
