Brandon is a peaceful, friendly and progressive community just outside of the Alexandria lakes area.
Brandon, Minnesota is located in the west central part of Douglas County, just two miles off of Interstate 94. The community is home to over 80 businesses.
Brandon is the gateway to Inspiration Peak, Minnesota’s second highest elevation. It is also home to Long Lake Lodge and Conference Center, a lodging, meeting, shooting sports, and hunting facility.
In 2015, the city of Brandon implemented a water system improvement project consisting of distribution system improvements, a new water tower, a new water treatment facility, rehabilitation of the city’s existing wells and a new water metering system.
The city’s electricity is powered by Otter Tail Power Company.
Douglas County Resource Management
- Oversees and manages the various land uses within Douglas County
- Regulates and enforces planning and zoning (the Comprehensive Guide Plan), the Land Use and Subdivision ordinances, and the Solid Waste ordinance of the county
- Issues all land use permits and contractor licenses
